The above photo and advertisement appeared in the History of Williamstown (Dauphin County, Pennsylvania), which was published for the centennial celebration of the town, 1926. Nicholas Adams claimed to be the only surviving Civil War veteran living in Williamstown. He died in September 1927 and is buried at Fairview Cemetery, Tower City, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
